Nominate Someone for the Annual Service to the Field and Institutional Innovation Awards


The UMTIA Service to the Field Award is given each year to two individuals or groups of individuals whose volunteer efforts have substantially impacted the quality or professionalism of the interpreting or translating fields.

The UMTIA Institutional Innovation Award is given to institutions who have introduced innovative policies or practices which have substantial impact language access, or on the quality or professionalism of the interpreting or translating fields.

Awards are presented at the UMTIA conference in conference years and at the annual meeting in non-conference years.
To nominate someone, send an email with:

  1. The person's name/institution
  2. Contact information for the person or institution
  3. Your name
  4. Your contact information
  5. Why you think this person/institution should receive the UMTIA Service to the Field Award or the UMTIA Institutional Innovations Award
